Professor Shuichi Hokoi focuses on the field of building environment engineering. And the field of his study concerns with stochastic modeling of weather data, heat and moisture transfer, energy saving, comfortable indoor environment, conservation of cultural heritages, and more recently human thermo-physiology model and lifestyle. He has been working for international standard making process through ISO, belonging to TC163 (Thermal performance and energy use in the built environment) and TC 205 (Building environment design). His PhD research results related heat and moisture transfer were adopted as ISO standard, ISO16957. Recently he has been focusing on the healthy building, and a human thermo-physiological and a cardio-vascular models have been developed.
