
Philip Ursprung is Professor of the History of Art and Architecture, Head of the Institute of the History and Theory of Architecture (gta) at ETH Zurich and since 2026 Part-Time Professor at the School of Architecture, SEU. 2017-2019 he served as Dean of the Department of Architecture of ETH Zurich. He curated Herzog & de Meuron: Archeology of the Mind (CCA Montreal, 2002) and co-represented Switzerland at the 18th Architecture Biennale Venice (2023). He is author of Allan Kaprow, Robert Smithson and the Limits to Art (2013), Joseph Beuys (2021), Gordon Matta-Clark: An Archival Sourcebook (co-editor, 2022), and Values and Surfaces: Art, Economy Architecture (2025).
